Kara Brewer, along with her husband Chris, opened the farm of their dreams in May 2017. Weddings and beautiful flowers just seem to go hand-in-hand, and there’s nothing Kara loves more than seeing the happiness and joy that her flowers and weddings bring to others. Creating a unique and unforgettable farm experience for wedding couples (and their guests) is her passion. In addition to managing Wild Flora Farm, Kara and Chris are co-owners of Yellow Dog Orchards, a 30-acre chestnut farm in Yanceyville. They also help manage a chestnut farm in Hillsborough. Kara and Chris have lived in Chapel Hill for over 20 years, and enjoy spending time on the farm with their two children, Caden and Lyla, and their yellow lab, Daisy.
Jennifer Wood, our Creative Director and Florist, has studied the art of floral design since she was 16, and is a Chapel Designer. In 2016, her passion for local flowers grew when she planted her first crop of flowers with Kara. Farming, even though challenging, has become one of the most rewarding aspects of her job. In 2017, Jen made the jump to full-time status at the Barn of Chapel Hill and really enjoys working on weddings and events to create exactly what her clients desire. Creating joy for others through flowers is her passion. From wild and free to structured and classic, Jen is able to encompass all styles of floral design. Jen enjoys spending her free time with her husband, a floral designer himself, and her four children.
Kelli Teague, our Artistic Director, provides calligraphy and design services for our brides through her company Lettered with Love. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she worked as a school counselor for eight years, receiving recognition as Wake County’s Elementary Counselor of the Year. After taking time off to raise her children, Kelli is excited to bring her passion for art and hand-lettering to Wild Flora Farm. In her spare time, Kelli enjoys going on new adventures and creating special memories with her two children.
