Flower Planning and Spring Break Fun

Over the past few weeks, we've really started to finalize plans for our inaugural flower crop. I've decided to start with a few beautiful basics that will take us through summer and fall, mainly sunflowers, celosia and zinnias. Next spring we'll expand with peonies, hellebore, dahlias and perhaps coneflowers, yarrow and gomphrena. So many lovely possibilities!

We'll be starting the flower beds soon, and I'll be sure to update with our progress.

The kids are out of school this week, and with the weather warming up, one of our favorite places to visit is For Garden's Sake, a local garden center. I get to wander around the nursery, while the kids feed the goats and alpacas. It's a fun little break before all the exciting work on our new farm begins!
