Lovely Lounges

Thoughtful details make all the difference when planning a wedding, and here at the Barn of Chapel Hill, we 🤍 a good lounge area. Creating a little oasis of comfort, where guests can sip a cocktail and chat for a bit (away from the hustle and bustle of the main party), is always a nice touch for any event (wedding or otherwise!)

We’ve rounded up a few of our favorite lounge areas from past events, and, as you’ll see, most consist of a comfortable couch and a few chairs; perfect for 4-5 people. Each space should feel small and intimate, to encourage conversation. And of course, our in-house floral design team always adds the perfect touch of flowers and greenery…we can’t leave anything untouched by flowers around here. 😉

Let’s start off by featuring a very simple, yet elegant, lounge area. To compliment the green chairs and green couch pillows, we added just a touch of greenery to the pergola. A contrasting pop of bright orange florals on the coffee table is the perfect finishing touch!

And speaking of green, green velvet couches are definitely having a moment. This Cottage Luxe couch looks just as good with cognac leather chairs as it does with linen oval-back chairs.

The couch below was combined with a few side chairs and a nearby bourbon bar….it was a VERY popular gathering area!

For this lounge area, we incorporated cascading greenery and flowers to the pergola, creating the magical feel of secret garden.

And you don’t have to use just sofas and chairs! Bringing in these Greenhouse Picker Sisters swings is SO fun, especially when we cover the ropes in greenery. 😉

Putting a lounge area in front of a blank wall or large chalkboard is a great way to incoroporate a favorite phrase, names, wedding date, and/or other artwork. It also creates a beautiful backdrop for photos!

And always be sure to make good use of outdoor spaces! Here, we have lounge areas and cocktail tables on our garden patio, under twinkling market lights.

And if you have a smaller space/corner (or just don’t like couches and chairs) a macrame curtain, rug, and floor pillow provides a comfy place to relax with a casual, bohemian vibe.

No matter what type of lounge area you choose, in the end, providing a comfortable spot to relax and chat is really what it’s all about!
