What is your capacity?

The barn can comfortably seat up to 200 people for a plated dinner or formal buffet, and up to 250 people for a more casual cocktail-style reception.

how much does it cost to hold an event at the barn?

We offer several different packages to meet a wide variety of needs. Wedding packages start at $6,500, and special event packages (rehearsal dinners, corporate events, bridal and baby showers, Sunday brunches, birthday celebrations, etc.) start at $2,800. Please contact us to receive a full list of all of our options and prices. Because of high demand, we recommend booking weddings at least a year in advance of your desired date. For all other events, booking 6-8 months in advance is strongly recommended.

Can you design flowers for us at a different venue?

Absolutely! We love working at different venues and would be happy to create a floral proposal for you! Our full service, off-site minimum is $4,500 and our special DIY option, the Field and Foraged Soirée, starts at $3,800. For more information or to schedule a consultation, please click here. Our $75 consultation fee is applied to your flower invoice after booking. Please keep in mind that we are only able to design a few off-site weddings each year, and we are currently booking for 2020 and 2021.

What is your “hold” policy?

We can hold one date for up to three days at no charge (starting the day you receive the contract from us.) At the end of those three days, we will either release the date if we don’t hear back from you, or we can reserve it for you with a returned and signed contract along with your deposit for half of the contract price.

Are other events scheduled on the same day?

We only host one event per day. We want our attention to be focused entirely on your event!

Do you cater?

No, but we can help you choose an amazing caterer from our exclusive selection of local catering companies. For a copy of our highly curated and carefully vetted list (which is a great source of incredible vendors in our area), please contact us.

Are you equipped for a D.J. and/or a Band?

Yes. All music, with the exception of music for the ceremony, must be played inside the barn.

What happens if it rains?

If it rains, your wedding ceremony may be held inside the barn, in a tent, or on our covered porch. Tent rentals will need to be coordinated with an outside vendor, and our staff will be happy to provide recommendations.

Is alcohol allowed?

Yes. Due to state and county regulations (as well as our insurance and liability requirements), if you choose to have alcohol at your wedding reception, you must coordinate through POUR Bar Services. Packages are priced per person, and a $500 security fee is added to all packages. POUR can create a number of signature cocktails using our farm honey, herbs, and edible flowers, including the popular Bee’s Knees (our wildflower honey with gin and homemade lemonade) and Love with Lavender (vodka, lime juice, homemade Wild Flora Farm lavender syrup, and ginger beer).

Is the barn handicapped-accessible?

We offer handicapped-accessible restrooms and parking.

Do you require that we use you for the flowers?

Yes, flowers are our passion, as we love creating beautiful floral arrangements for our weddings! We also accept a limited number of off-site wedding design work per year. Click here for more information about our floral design services.

Is parking provided?

Parking is provided on-site.

May we set up or have access to the venue before our event begins?

Depending on the package you select, you will have access to the farm starting at 10:00 a.m. or 12 p.m. on the day of your event. Additional hours can be added to any package for $980 per hour. However, please be aware that as a working farm, there may be farming activity/maintenance occurring on the grounds during the early morning hours.

Are there any other fees?

We try to include as much as possible in each of our packages, and the only fee we add is a 3% administrative fee. As mentioned above, additional hours can be added to any package for $980 per hour. Extra chairs (if needed) can also be rented for a small fee.

I love the chalk art! Who can I contact about that?

Personalized art on our chalk board is included in all of our packages, but if you’d like additional signage, please contact Lettered with Love.

Who is responsible for cleaning the barn?

Our staff will clean the event space and the restrooms after you leave. All vendors are responsible for the removal of their belongings and trash, and caterers must leave the prep area the way they found it.

Can we decorate?

Yes, but we ask that you please refrain from using nails, tape, command strips and staples when decorating.

When do we need to have everything out of the barn?

When the event ends, please be sure to take all of your belongings with you. All rentals should be removed, unless prior arrangements have been made with The Barn of Chapel Hill.

Do you provide any tables or chairs?

We provide twenty 60” round guest tables (each table seats 8-10 people) and 300 chairs (150 x-back reception chairs and 150 folding white resin ceremony chairs). Additional chairs and tables are available for a fee.

Do I need to hire a wedding coordinator?

We require that you hire a professional event coordinator from our curated vendor list to manage the details of your wedding. If you need help deciding on a coordinator, our staff will be happy to make recommendations.

When is my rehearsal time?

A one-hour ceremony rehearsal will be available to the client at no cost during the week before the wedding on a space-available basis.

does the barn have air conditioning?

Yes, the barn is fully climate-controlled!
